Welcome to Venice in February 2013!

Ally and I are pleased to announce another round of Venice in February. Please refer to links below this post from last year's participants, or reading lists suggested in the sidebar pages. We're so happy you're joining us in 2013!

  1. I'm thrilled to find this challenge posted! I enjoyed last year's challenge very much - after reading The Glassblower of Murano for the challenge, I tried Prosecco for the first time, and built a jigsaw puzzle with a Venetian canal scene - fun!

  2. Just by luck I was reading the first published work of the great Irish writer of Gothic/Horror tales, Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu and found a very interesting story from 1843 set during Carnival in Venice-It verifies the idea that Venice was viewed during the period, as seen in the Edith Wharton story I posted on, as a place of exotic delights and sinister evil.
